The Tragedy of Dan Rather

Dan made his career by directing his gun

at Nixon and Reagan and Bush Number One.

Assaulting Republicans launched him as high

as newsmen can get in the CBS Eye.  

But now Dan’s endured an unseemly affair: 

Exposing his hatred for Bush on the air

He claimed, through a National Guard-ist connection,

To know things ‘bout Bush that could swing the election.

Although it appeared that his sources were faked, 

our boy held his ground; reputation was staked.  

As proof of forged documents grew undeniable,

he claimed that their “substance” was highly reliable.

But the story was wrong and blew up in his face --

for such a great icon it’s quite a disgrace!

He’s tried to regroup from this shameful mistake 

By suing the network that gave him his break,

Thus proving his humble “acceptance” of guilt 

Was just a charade that he played to the hilt.

Don’t fret for poor Dan ‘cause he'll likely be able

to get a show somewhere on low-rated cable.

To newsmen his story should serve as a fable:

Keep liberal bias stowed under the table!

Barack Throws a Party

They’re  planning a meeting with highest of aims; 

The guest-list is special, just check out these names:

Ahmadinejad, Chavez, and Castro (Raul),

And ol’ Kim Jong Il, The Incredibly Cruel!

They’ll host all those terrorists, tyrants and thugs;

Perhaps there’ll be Danish and latte-filled mugs.

Obama has urged us to talk to our foes;

What better tableau for the peace can one pose?

We wonder what topics Barack has in mind…

Will he say we’re a country unfairly maligned,

Or pull out a speech from the Pastor Wright vault,

And tell them it’s all been America’s fault?

There’s Arafat-Clinton and Chamberlain-Hitler -- 

Two cases that prove that your odds are much littler

To have some success with this murderous crew

Than Custer was given to vanquish the Sioux.

He’d ape Jimmy Carter in giving some cred

To dictator types who would wish us all dead.

There’s proof of his following Jimmy astray: 

Hamas has just thrown their support Barack’s way!

These killers are experts in arts of deception;

Beware if you’re getting a welcome reception --

They're not to be trusted, without an exception.

This project is doomed in its very conception.

The Taxman Cometh

As sure as the earth will revolve on its axis,

When Dems are in power they’ll raise all your taxes.

They’ll simply ignore the statistical facts,

That federal revenues swell to the max

When taxes are cut and incentives supplied:

These truths are all things that Obama’s denied.

Instead, Barack’s promised some taxable pain

To people enjoying a capital gain

By raising those rates to a much greater height.

Though history shows that this plan’s not so bright

 It still won’t dislodge from his liberal brain

The “taxing the rich equals fairness” refrain.

All lefties have nurtured this thought through the ages: 

The Government’s got the first claim on your wages.  

Dems claim their tax policy springs from compassion: 

the wealth of our country they’re looking to ration.

Success and achievement they’ll keep right on bashin’

To level us all in true Socialist fashion.
