A “bump on a log” is a life-form that’s low;
A “bump in a road” means you gotta go slow.
Some bumps on your body can mean that you’re ill,
While others result from not taking The Pill.
Some bumps you may like, and there’s some you may not --
But a bump is one thing that Obama ain’t got!
We’re talking about the big bump in the polls
He should’ve received when those media souls
Accompanied him on his trip overseas
To fawn on huge crowds that he tried to appease
And who worshipped him like he’s Obama the Wise –
While poor John McCain could draw nothing but flies.
With Katie and Brian and Charlie in tow,
It’s hard to believe, but there’s one thing we know:
Despite the PR that these anchors provide,
The polls in the States show he’s no more than tied!
So how to explain this apparent insanity?
Are we turning our back on the Hope for Humanity?
Perhaps it’s because, although Europe’s in love,
We ask that our leaders rise highly above
Mere rhetoric promising empty abstractions.
His cult personality serves up distractions
Lest people review his desired transactions.
Here’s hoping the polls show continued contractions!
