True liberals cherish their freedom to speak;
A range of opinion’s a goal that they seek.
They praise the amendment that cites these ideals
And aim to expand it with legal appeals.
If perversion and weirdness you’d like to pursue
they’ll fight for your rights with the ACLU.
These tolerant views make them feel so benevolent,
with intellect, warmth and compassion so prevalent.
But wait! If you say it’s Rush Limbaugh you love,
Those same Dems will say, “Disregard the above!
In defense of free speech we’ll give all that we’ve got --
As long as it’s not that conservative rot.”
They’re fuming ‘cause Rush has such huge popularity;
They’d ditch all their “values” to try to reach parity.
Most liberal schools are well-known to decline
To hear any speakers not toeing their line,
And willing to do so with methods quite violent.
In efforts to keep all contrarians silent
their pols are invoking the Doctrine of Fairness,
assuming that people lack any awareness
of all of the options from which they can choose
to get a particular slant on the news.
Their scorn for the public’s IQ is uncanny!
(It leads to a push for a state known as “Nanny.”)
Libs brook any thought that one person supposes
As long as it’s something no lefty opposes.
The samples above show a trend that exposes
The chilling effect a lib doctrine imposes.
